  Good quality food, ample portion size, but service was a touch lacking.
  
  Visited on a Sunday towards the tail end of the lunch rush (13:45 booking).
  
  The person behind the bar was pleasant and cheery, took our drink orders and then guided us to our table in the dining area.
  
  The decor and upkeep of the dining area itself was superb. Nice, light and airy with the tables well spaced so as to give ample room. There was also a separate private dining area.
  
  The first batch of bread brought to the table was nice and fresh with good quality creamy salted butter. Unfortunately the refill of bread wasn't as fresh and I would hazard a guess it was from the day before (there were 5 of us dining lest I sound like a piggy).
  
  The service taking the food orders was pleasant and competent.
  
  There was quite a delay in placing the food order and the starters arriving, this was most likely due to it being at the tail end of the Sunday rush, however, it wasn't ideal. The starters were of a high standard, used good quality ingredients and were well plated.
  
  There was again a quite long delay in clearing the table from the starters and bringing the mains. When the mains arrived, again, they were well prepared and of a very good portion size without being excessive. Unfortunately the lady serving then forgot to return with the requested condiments and there was no asking if we required more drinks both needing to flag down another member of staff after some time.
  
  The quality of the food is superb, the sliced beef sirloin was one of the best I have had in a Sunday lunch that wasn't home cooked in some time (moist, tender and flavourful), the burger was home made and used good quality beef, the fish was lightly battered and cooked perfectly without being greasy and the salmon again was cooked delicately and well seasoned.
  
  Overall I'll definitely be coming back, the food was of superb quality, the price was extremely reasonable (5 starters & mains, 2 glasses of wine, 3 beers, 3 softs, bottle of sparking water = £115 exc tip), but the service and timing needs to be tightened up a little.
